Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform advanced technical CEI work supporting roadway and bridge construction projects.
  • •Conduct complex inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • •Serve as Lead Project Inspector, providing oversight and work direction to lower-level inspectors.
  • •Perform materials sampling, inspection, and testing in accordance with project specifications and Department requirements.
  • •Monitor construction activities and maintain required project documentation, reports, and daily inspection records to support project administration.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or GED plus 6 years of progressive transportation technician experience (employee or consultant for a State Highway Agency) or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience/education.
  • •US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • •Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites and clients; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • •Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management (4-year curriculum) with 5 years of progressive transportation technician experience (preferred).
  • •Thorough knowledge of specifications and standards and construction practices for bridge/highway projects (preferred).
