Job Summary

Provide advanced construction engineering inspection support for roadway and bridge projects within AECOM’s CEI team in Georgia. Conduct complex inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and standards; serve as Lead Project Inspector with oversight of lower-level inspectors; and perform materials sampling, testing, documentation, and daily field records. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve field issues while monitoring safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced technical CEI work supporting roadway and bridge construction projects.
•Conduct complex inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
•Serve as Lead Project Inspector, providing oversight and work direction to lower-level inspectors.
•Perform materials sampling, inspection, and testing in accordance with project specifications and Department requirements.
•Monitor construction activities and maintain required project documentation, reports, and daily inspection records to support project administration.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or GED plus 6 years of progressive transportation technician experience (employee or consultant for a State Highway Agency) or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience/education.
•US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
•Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites and clients; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
•Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management (4-year curriculum) with 5 years of progressive transportation technician experience (preferred).
•Thorough knowledge of specifications and standards and construction practices for bridge/highway projects (preferred).
