  • •Review claims regularly for coverage and adequate reserves; act as a resource for claims questions and take necessary action.
  • •Resolve coverage and other unusual questions and conduct related research as needed.
  • •Handle claim complaints and inquiries; assist the Claims Manager and act on the manager’s behalf when necessary.
  • •Process legal papers served upon Erie involving claims action and assist in trial preparation, including attending pre-trial functions and trials as necessary.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent with six years of claims-related experience; or associate degree with four years; or bachelor’s degree with two years.
  • •Ability to supervise, train, and direct claims personnel, including performance assessments and development.
  • •Experience using estimating software (preferred).
  • •Completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation (preferred).
  • •Appropriate state-required licenses, including the ability to secure and maintain dual/multiple licenses; valid driver’s license required.
