Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and maintain the host provisioning stack (PXE boot, Ansible, burn-in agents) to bring bare metal online quickly and confidently
  • •Evolve the internal orchestration engine to manage clusters, containers, and VMs through a single lens
  • •Optimize bin packing algorithms to maximize utilization and minimize costs
  • •Own internal tooling used by Railway engineers to interact with the fleet
  • •Build out internal observability and alerting to catch fleet problems before customers feel them
  • •Design and maintain CI pipelines that ship infrastructure code safely
  • •Define immutable infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible for teardown, failover, and reconstitution
  • •Build Golang/Rust GRPC services from scratch to support millions of users
  • •Write Engineering Requirement Documents to take ideas to implementation and monitoring
