Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and complete process engineering calculations, including mass balance and sizing of unit operations with design constraints.
  • •Produce process flow diagrams and support process design activities for wastewater treatment and chemical dosing plants.
  • •Undertake feasibility and optioneering studies and help assess existing process/equipment through surveys and site visits when required.
  • •Support technical workstreams such as preparing technical documents/data to meet design standards, legislation, and AECOM QA requirements.
  • •Act as technical secretary/scribe in HAZOP meetings where appropriate, and communicate effectively with clients and key stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Ambition to work toward Chartered Engineer status with IChemE or CIWEM.
  • •Degree educated (MEng or MSc) or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a similar field.
  • •Interest in municipal water and wastewater treatment, including unit processes and relevant design standards.
  • •Strong report-writing, communication, teamwork, and analytical/problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • •Familiarity or keen interest in functional safety (HAZOP studies), plus comfort using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
