Job Summary

Control the concrete batching process by using computer batching software to produce concrete to predetermined specifications. Verify admixtures, dosages, and load information, adjust batching weights and quantities as needed, and ensure quality records and logs. Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA/MSHA requirements, using required PPE, and supporting plant maintenance and preventive maintenance for equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

•Control concrete production from raw ingredients and additives according to predetermined specifications using computer batching software.
•Verify correct admixtures and dosages, and confirm batched concrete meets company and customer specifications.
•Adjust batching weights and quantities as necessary to maintain specifications.
•Follow OSHA/MSHA policies and wear required PPE to maintain a safe work environment for coworkers and self.
•Perform plant maintenance and preventive maintenance, including inspecting equipment/facilities and monitoring inventories and cleaning the central mix plant.

Key Requirements

•Minimum high school or GED required.
•Previous related experience as a Batch Plant Operator with knowledge of mix designs and components (desirable).
•Ability to verify each load for yardage, mix, added products, and other quality information.
•Thorough working knowledge of a computer/batching system.
•Basic knowledge of skid steer and/or Bob Cat equipment and experience with hand tools and equipment maintenance.
