Job Summary

Build and improve internal tools and build/test/deployment systems that support Thumbtack’s engineering organization. Partner with engineers across teams to understand pain points, identify automation opportunities, and deliver incremental improvements. Work on code reviews and technical planning while contributing to infrastructure and developer-experience initiatives, including introducing GenAI tooling in a hybrid local/cloud environment.

•Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools supporting software development workflows.
•Improve build, test, and deployment systems to make them faster, more reliable, and easier to use.

•Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning.
•Maintain and improve infrastructure that supports Thumbtack’s engineering organization, including debugging complex systems issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 144,200 - 219,500 annually

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
•Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java.
•Interest in infrastructure, tooling, developer experience, or DevOps practices.
•Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and systems.
•Strong communication and collaboration skills.
