Job Summary

Lead planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients, providing technical review of ecological assessments such as Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, and Biodiversity Net Gain calculations. Manage ecological work winning and bids/tenders for ecological services, provide technical leadership and pragmatic solutions, and lead client/stakeholder engagement. Mentor junior staff and help develop the team’s technical capabilities through innovation and research.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead planning and delivery of ecological inputs for internal and external clients.
•Produce and technically review ecological assessments including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Protected Species Baseline Reports, Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, and Biodiversity Net Gain Calculations.
•Provide technical leadership to deliver proportionate and pragmatic ecological solutions.
•Lead consultation and engagement with clients and key stakeholders, including planning authorities, statutory bodies, and the public.
•Lead production of bids and tenders for ecological services, and mentor junior staff and peers.

Key Requirements

•Demonstratable experience planning and delivering ecological services on UK or Ireland projects.
•Well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation.
•Membership of an appropriate professional institution with evidence of working towards Chartership (e.g., CIEEM or related).
•Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area, including protected species licences.
•A proactive approach to Health and Safety, with experience mentoring and supporting ecology team members.
