Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws while transporting loads safely and on schedule.
  • •Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas and follow loading crew signals during loading/unloading.
  • •Assist with loading/unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted, and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain signed invoices and required delivery documentation (e.g., shipping bills of lading) and deliver paperwork when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service checks (oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions; arrange trailers in shipping yards for efficient loading.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold either a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state requirements for the vehicle weight.
  • •Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, including a 10-panel drug screen for safety-sensitive duties.
  • •Pass a DOT physical, and be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, sit for extended periods in a trailer cab, and travel frequently.
