Key Responsibilities

  • •Developing and checking hydraulic models using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies.
  • •Develop water quality models (physico-chemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical) using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM.
  • •Conceptualisation and scoping of modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each project.
  • •Undertaking and checking hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
  • •Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW).
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
  • •Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh waters.
  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • •Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar.
