Key Responsibilities

•Developing and checking hydraulic models using packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies.
•Develop water quality models (physico-chemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical) using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM.
•Conceptualisation and scoping of modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each project.
•Undertaking and checking hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts.

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW).
•Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments.
•Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh waters.
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline.
•Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar.
