Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform detailed appraisal reviews on residential mortgage loans, assessing accuracy, reasonableness, market trends, and property condition.
  • •Develop scalable process workflows using third-party valuation tools (AVMs, BPOs, desktop appraisals) to support review conclusions.
  • •Provide clear, well-documented review commentary and actionable recommendations for acquisition decisions.
  • •Create and implement procedures to ensure continued review of supplemental valuations obtained by loan servicing for accuracy and compliance.
  • •Serve as a primary knowledge source for appraisal-related activity, underwriting guideline variations, and evolving industry standards.

Key Requirements

  • •4–5+ years of progressive experience in residential mortgage whole loan valuations, operations, and/or acquisition diligence.
  • •Strong knowledge of residential appraisal methodologies (cost, sales comparison, and income approaches) and appraisal regulations (including USPAP, Dodd-Frank, and GSE requirements).
  • •Experience reviewing URARs, BPOs, and AVMs, and understanding secondary market valuation trends.
  • •Deep understanding of residential mortgage credit underwriting standards and metrics such as DTI, LTV, FICO, and reserves.
  • •Bachelor’s degree and ability to synthesize complex data into clear conclusions with strong written/verbal communication.
