Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems across heavy mining fleet equipment for Minera Panama S.A. Perform preventive electrical maintenance, diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and manuals, and repair/replace wiring and components while meeting manufacturer specs and safety standards. Conduct quality control checks, keep detailed maintenance and parts records, and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime. Provide mentorship to junior technicians and contribute to reliability improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and preventative electrical maintenance on heavy mining equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, drills, and ancillary vehicles.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
•Repair, replace, and overhaul electrical components, wiring, and systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
•Conduct quality control checks on electrical repairs and installations to ensure reliability and performance.
•Follow safety procedures, maintain accurate maintenance records, and collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repairs while providing training to junior technicians.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience as an Auto Electrician working with heavy mining or industrial equipment.
•Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic procedures for large machinery.
•Ability to perform equipment maintenance and enforce safety procedures to mitigate electrical hazards.
•Experience with quality control (QC) for electrical repairs and installations.
•A formal qualification in Auto Electrics, Heavy Vehicle Electrics, or a related field is highly desirable.
