Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to aerodynamic layout and analysis for fixed-wing, multicopter, and eVTOL configurations using low- and high-fidelity methods (XFoil, OpenVSP, AVL, CFD).
  • •Support flight test and/or wind tunnel campaigns by defining test cards, instrumenting prototypes, and running experiments to validate simulations against real-world data.
  • •Write Python tooling to automate analysis workflows, process test/flight data, and connect design and simulation tools into an end-to-end pipeline.
  • •Generate and maintain aerodynamic databases and stability derivatives used by GNC for control law development and autopilot tuning.
  • •Collaborate with Mechanical and GNC teams to ensure aerodynamic choices remain feasible, stable, and testable throughout the design cycle.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field, with coursework or projects covering aerodynamics or flight mechanics.
  • •Solid understanding of aerodynamic fundamentals and flight dynamics, with enough intuition to reason about design behavior prior to simulation or test.
  • •Comfortable scripting in Python to process data, automate analysis, and connect engineering tools (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas).
  • •Hands-on experience in the validation loop, either aerodynamic simulation (CFD, XFoil, OpenVSP, AVL) or physical/experimental testing (wind tunnel, flight test, prototyping).
  • •Comfort navigating and making basic edits in SolidWorks or CATIA to understand geometry constraints and communicate with Mechanical teams.
