Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, test, and certify structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment, including optical and copper cabling.
  • •Inspect/clean optical cabling, install and decommission cabling infrastructure, and perform patching between network equipment and customer networks.
  • •Use a Fluke Versiv Mainframe to test installed cables and support carrier testing of circuits.
  • •Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment; complete Move/Add/Change (MAC) requests within service levels.
  • •Perform Layer 1 troubleshooting and support facilities/emergency restoration activities including power/UPS restoral and cooling/fire suppression exercises.

Key Requirements

  • •2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably at least 1 year in a data center environment.
  • •In-depth knowledge of structured cabling and the ability to clean and work with single- and multi-mode optical connections.
  • •Experience using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe and the ability to measure, transmit, and receive on high-speed optics.
  • •Knowledge of IEEE and BICSI cabling standards and safe work practices with long-range optical lasers.
  • •Proven ability troubleshooting Layer 1 network concerns and willingness to work nights and weekends.
