Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team.
  • •Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-required documentation.
  • •Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings (e.g., annual IEP meetings).
  • •Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals using data and work samples; analyze data for remediation and enrichment.
  • •Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction and adapt lessons and assessments to accommodations and modifications specified in the IEP.
Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and an active state teaching license.
  • •Alabama 6-12 Special Education Teaching Certificate and Alabama residency requirements.
  • •Ability to clear the required background check.
  • •Ability to collaborate with other teachers to interpret and produce student data representations and use them for instructional decisions.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills, with receptiveness to coaching.
