Job Summary

Lead and shape Service Operations across one or more assigned CarMax locations as an Operations Manager in Training. Complete structured development covering inventory, cosmetic/mechanical repair, end-to-end production processes, and the Senior Management Development Program. Provide strategic direction, manage managers and frontline teams, drive continuous improvement using KPIs, and maintain financial ownership including P&L, labor optimization, and cost controls. Manage EH&S responsibilities for your department/location.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a Senior Manager on the store leadership team, providing strategic leadership across Service Operations including reconditioning, cosmetic, production, and automotive service.
•Directly and indirectly lead multiple managers and a frontline workforce with accountability for staffing, performance management, associate development, succession planning, and engagement tools.
•Own operational execution by overseeing key performance metrics (KPMs) such as production capacity, quality, cycle time, and cost controls using data and trend analysis.
•Maintain full financial accountability including P&L ownership, expense management, labor optimization, and productivity targets aligned to business plans.
•Ensure Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program execution for the department/location, including self-inspections and hazardous waste disposal, workplace safety, and PPE.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 115,200 - 201,700 annually

Key Requirements

•3+ years of management experience; retail management preferred.
•Ability to interpret and maintain accurate data records.

•Willingness to work flexible rotating shifts and work at multiple locations or relocate.
