Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide customer support using custom monitoring software and an internal ticketing system.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair simple hardware failures on x86-based servers, including replacing failed components.
  • •Diagnose and resolve OS storage and connectivity issues, including file system, disk management, RAID, and login/password/connectivity problems.
  • •Maintain and troubleshoot local network (LAN) connectivity; restore remote access using SSH, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, or Remote Access Controllers.
  • •Perform troubleshooting, configuration, and replacement for network and storage devices (switches, firewalls, load-balancers, security appliances, DAS/NAS) and complete customer configuration maintenance and cabling testing.

Key Requirements

  • •Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; further technical vocation education is advantageous.
  • •Experience troubleshooting and repairing or upgrading hardware components in a customer service-oriented environment (preferred).
  • •Must be able to work flexible 24x7x365 coverage including holidays and weekends, and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • •Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in typing and productivity tools (Microsoft Office/Open Office) and email clients.
  • •Lift 50 lbs overhead and be willing to occasionally travel (2–4 weeks/year).
