Job Summary

Work as a Seasonal Journeyperson Electrician at the Red Dog Port facility, reporting to the Port Facility Supervisor. Operate and troubleshoot the port power generation system, complete preventative maintenance on pumps and ventilation, maintain conveying systems and motors, and conduct daily workplace inspections while working scheduled rotations.

Key Responsibilities

•Comply with safety policies and procedures (including MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and complete daily workplace inspections to identify and correct hazards.
•Perform electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs for electrical power systems, including control circuits, variable speed drives, heat trace, cranes, and switches.
•Operate and troubleshoot the port power generation system and carry out preventative maintenance for pumps, ventilation, and related equipment.
•Maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot conveying systems, electric motors, power generation, lighting, and other electrical equipment.
•Use instrument test equipment to monitor assets and provide maintenance recommendations; communicate with trade personnel and supervisors about assigned tasks and shift carryover.

•Journeyperson Electrician with five (5) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
•Ability to troubleshoot motor control circuits, read electrical schematics and wire diagrams, and use electrical test equipment.
•Experience with PLC operational troubleshooting, including installing flow, pressure, and level meters.
•Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely outdoors in extreme climatic conditions.
