Job Summary

Join the Controls Centre of Excellence for a 4-year Electronics/software Engineering apprenticeship, rotating through Engineering teams to gain hands-on training across hardware and software. You’ll design functional electronic systems and circuits, write and document structured code, develop test and basic project plans, and learn embedded electronic systems design and development. Attend college day release at UCW and the University of West of England while working toward higher education qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

•Design functional electronic systems and circuits from component level.
•Write and document structured code that follows industry norms and supports maintain/modify work.
•Develop a test plan for products you have developed.
•Create a basic project plan including resource and time planning, and contingency strategies.
•Use Business IT/M systems, including engineering documentation packages and quality/HSE systems.

Key Requirements

•Achieve 96+ UCAS points or be qualified with 3 A-levels at grade C or above including Maths and a STEM subject (Physics, ICT, Computing, or Electronics).
•Hold 5 GCSEs at grade 5 and above, including Mathematics, English, and Double Science (or equivalent).
•Or have an Extended BTEC level 3 Diploma in engineering with Distinction.
•Comprehend the fundamentals of structured software design.
•Confident communicating using oral, written, and electronic methods, and able to work safely and effectively without close supervision.
