Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform dimensional inspections for development, production, and supplier hardware using CMMs, portable measurement systems, and 3D scanning.
  • •Create inspection programs, measurement plans, alignments, reports, and fixtures from engineering drawings, models, specifications, and GD&T.
  • •Use metrology software (e.g., PolyWorks/Verisurf) to compare measured data to nominal geometry, evaluate features, and communicate results.
  • •Select measurement tools and methods based on feature/tolerance, geometry/accessibility, material/surface condition, uncertainty needs, and intended use.
  • •Conduct measurement system analysis (e.g., Gage R&R, repeatability/reproducibility/bias/stability) and support inspections with accurate records and technical reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelors or higher in an engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience in dimensional inspection/metrology/quality operations.
  • •Hands-on experience operating CMMs, portable coordinate measurement systems, 3D scanners, or comparable dimensional-inspection equipment.
  • •Ability to create inspection programs, measurement plans, alignments, and reports from engineering drawings, models, and GD&T requirements.
  • •Experience using PolyWorks, Verisurf, or comparable CMM/scanning/point-cloud metrology software.
  • •Experience with MSA such as Gage R&R, measurement uncertainty, repeatability/reproducibility, or inspection-method validation.
