Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead legal team input into assigned tender and bid responses, particularly for NHS and other public sector procurements.
  • •Draft, review, and negotiate a range of customer and supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal/commercial risk appetite.
  • •Take named end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of high-value client contracts, managing signature-to-performance obligations, change control, and contract variations.
  • •Monitor contractual performance, compliance, and post-signature obligations; support delivery and operations teams in applying contractual requirements.
  • •Support governance and continuous improvement of AI-enabled legal support technologies, identify and escalate risks, and mentor/develop contract managers and colleagues.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 7-9 years of hands-on experience in high-value contract management, ideally in healthcare, IT, and/or the public sector.
  • •Experience operating autonomously on complex, strategically significant contracts and leading negotiations to conclusion.
  • •Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with a pragmatic, commercially focused approach.
  • •Comfort using digital workflow tools, document automation systems, and AI-enabled legal support technologies; legal operations and contract lifecycle platforms are highly desirable.
  • •Knowledge of UKI model form contracts and government/NHS procurement laws and public sector contracting norms; ability to communicate complex contractual issues clearly to non-specialists.
