Job Summary

Lead system engineering for EO/IR focal plane array (FPA) programs, partnering with the Program Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and IPTL to deliver products within cost, schedule, and technical performance targets. Manage cross-functional engineering efforts and budgets, develop requirements and system interfaces, and author performance specifications and verification plans. Perform data analysis and debugging to identify and resolve system hardware/software issues, and present trade study results to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with the Program Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and IPTL to ensure products are developed and delivered within cost, schedule, quality, and performance parameters.
•Manage multidisciplinary, cross-functional engineering activities and associated budgets.
•Support proposal and change management activities for engineering, including engineering bid manager proposal support.
•Provide system engineering support on RVS EO/IR focal plane array (FPA) programs, including requirements management, performance specification authoring, defining verification plans, and data analysis.
•Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging, and maintain system requirements, concepts of operations, and interfaces.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant EO/IR system experience with hands-on design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical and/or optical subsystems.
•Experience supporting product specifications and requirements management, including distilling and deriving requirements for lower-level subassemblies and components.
•System design, trade studies, optimization, and performance assessment.
•Experience supporting reviews tied to formal gating events and testing.
•Factory production experience and direct experience with IR FPA design and testing for tactical and/or space environments.
