Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide product counselling, including advising on DPIAs for high-risk processing and strategic AI initiatives.
  • •Advise on privacy requirements for expansion into new jurisdictions and on data sharing arrangements.
  • •Advise on privacy and data matters relating to AI adoption at Wise.
  • •Support Wise Platform and banking partner contracting and ensure cross-border data protection compliance.
  • •Assist with periodic global and/or entity audits and support implementation of data governance and AI governance frameworks.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 81,000 - 104,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Admitted to practice law in the UK or a European jurisdiction with at least 4 years PQE advising on privacy matters.
  • •Experience with privacy by design and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), including for AI initiatives.
  • •Experience drafting and negotiating privacy-related contracts and developing compliance and auditing frameworks.
  • •Significant exposure to privacy and AI issues in the UK and Europe, with emphasis on use of EU/UK data.
  • •Excellent written and verbal skills in English, with the ability to make judgement calls using regulation and data to drive business decisions.
