Develop and maintain software and embedded tooling for R&D hardware enablement, building modular automation frameworks, instrument control, HIL rigs, and data analysis pipelines to accelerate hardware bring-up and validation in a fast-paced defense-focused lab.

Job Function: Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Tooling Software Architecture: Design reusable, modular automation and analysis frameworks (typically Python-based) across product programs.
•Instrument & Fixture Control: Integrate bench instruments/fixtures using SCPI/VISA, serial, USB, GPIB, Ethernet; abstract device drivers for reuse.
•Embedded Fixture Firmware: Write/maintain firmware for MCU-based fixtures (bare-metal/RTOS) handling I/O, signals, and measurements.
•Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL): Build HIL/development rigs and integrate into CI pipelines for automated firmware regression tracking.
•Data Acquisition & Analysis: Capture, store, and surface measurement data via databases, dashboards, and analysis scripts.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
•Proven test and automation experience building bench automation, HIL/development rigs, or characterization tooling for real hardware.
•Strong proficiency in Python automation (pytest or equivalent) and instrument control via SCPI/VISA.
•Embedded C/C++ on microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M), bare-metal and RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
•Hands-on hardware debugging with oscilloscopes/logic analyzers/JTAG-SWD and familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN.
