Job Summary

Lead mechanical design work for Hot Section Engineering, collaborating across the Integrated Product Team to resolve complex engineering problems and drive robust system solutions. Work with customer technical support to answer questions, review deteriorated hardware, update maintenance manual limits, and support field root-cause analyses. Manage technical engineering changes to meet cost, weight, and part-life performance goals, while enabling efficient outsourcing oversight and supporting production/sustainment needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead interaction with other Hot Section Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) members.
•Resolve mechanical engineering problems of difficult and complex scope, delivering balanced system solutions with some supervisor oversight.
•Enable and sustain outsourcing via technical review and oversight, ensuring robust technical solutions for internal and external customers.
•Partner with Customer Technical Support to respond to customer questions, review deteriorated hardware, update maintenance manual limits, and lead field event root-cause analyses.
•Process technically sound engineering changes within the program schedule to meet cost, weight, and part life performance metrics.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
•5 years of Mechanical Design engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
•2+ years of experience with hardware, blueprints, dimensions & tolerances, and/or manufacturing methods including GD&T.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines.
•Aircraft engine experience with the design, development, manufacture, testing and/or maintenance of jet engine compressors or turbines.
