Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage, review, and update HSE procedures and ensure document control, archiving, and removal of obsolete documentation.
  • •Monitor statutory inspections/examinations/testing compliance, track performance metrics, and coordinate closure of resulting actions.
  • •Maintain environmental compliance, support environmental audits/assessments, coordinate assessments and improvement plans, and support waste/spill/pollution prevention programs.
  • •Lead the site HSE self-assessment program, run gap analyses against procedures, regulations, and best practices, and develop action plans with verified corrective/preventive actions.
  • •Maintain and improve the COSHH Management System and register, conduct COSHH assessments, support exposure control implementation, review Safety Data Sheets, and coordinate related investigations and occupational health monitoring.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a minimum Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, NVQ/NCRQ, or equivalent).
  • •Demonstrate strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • •Have experience in a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environment, including auditing, compliance assurance, and HSE management systems.
  • •Working knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, and COSHH, plus environmental compliance requirements.
  • •Be proficient in conducting risk assessments, reviewing Safety Data Sheets, and implementing exposure controls, using tools such as CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and Microsoft Office.
