Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive the end-to-end engineering lifecycle from external feed ingestion and domain modeling through streaming, entity resolution, and UI distribution.
  • •Design robust ingestion and entity-resolution systems mapping barge data onto reference data using existing Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL patterns.
  • •Build scalable Kafka streaming pipelines with event-driven contracts, Avro schemas, deduplication mechanisms, and dead-letter queue replay using Python and Scala.
  • •Deliver integrated data across customer surfaces including Elasticsearch read models, external APIs, data warehouse feeds, and the Kpler Terminal using TypeScript/Vue.
  • •Maintain production quality and observability by setting SLOs, participating in on-call, and driving post-incident improvements while mentoring peers.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years designing, operating, and maintaining data-intensive production systems with full ownership.
  • •Advanced Python and SQL to build clean, well-bounded services within large codebases.
  • •Hands-on Kafka production streaming, including schema management (Avro/Schema Registry), deduplication, and replay patterns.
  • •Experience integrating third-party data feeds, mapping schemas, and building data quality monitoring frameworks.
  • •Operational ownership: observability in production, writing documentation, and resolving incidents in distributed systems.
