Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and shape Visa’s Quantum Computing Center of Excellence in Singapore, including research direction, identity, and external visibility.
  • •Formulate and execute a forward-looking research agenda in quantum information and computation focused on applications for financial services, payments, and security.
  • •Design, analyze, and prototype novel quantum algorithms, computational models, and proof-of-concept systems.
  • •Drive high-impact research programs from concept through execution with rigor and alignment to Visa’s long-term strategy.
  • •Mentor and develop researchers while partnering internally and externally to deepen collaborations and translate research into strategic opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years with an advanced degree, or 6+ years with a PhD, or 15+ years relevant work experience.
  • •PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • •6+ years of postdoctoral and/or industrial research experience in quantum computing or quantum information (or closely related).
  • •Deep expertise in one or more areas including quantum algorithms, quantum optimization, quantum machine learning, quantum cryptography, quantum error correction, quantum architecture/systems, or distributed/networked quantum computing.
  • •Proven technical leadership and the ability to lead complex, cross-disciplinary research initiatives, including meaningful mentoring and collaboration skills.
