Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments for children with developmental, neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions, including cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder.
  • •Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans with measurable functional goals across home, educational and community environments.
  • •Provide intervention for speech sound disorders, receptive/expressive language difficulties, social communication, fluency, voice, cognitive-communication, and feeding and swallowing needs within professional scope.
  • •Assess the need for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), recommend appropriate low- and high-tech systems, and contribute to trials of AAC access methods in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • •Maintain timely clinical documentation, monitor progress using pediatric outcome measures, and collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to integrate strategies into daily routines.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc degree in Speech and Language Therapy / Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent recognized qualification), with an MSc or relevant pediatric specialty preferred.
  • •Minimum 2 years of Speech and Language Therapy experience with pediatric clinical experience (5+ years and pediatric rehabilitation experience preferred).
  • •Current DOH licensure or eligibility as a Speech and Language Therapist and membership of a relevant professional body.
  • •Knowledge and experience in pediatric speech, language, communication, feeding and swallowing assessment and intervention for children with developmental and neurodevelopmental conditions (including cerebral palsy).
  • •Ability to assess AAC communication needs and develop functional, child- and family-centered goals, with strong documentation, clinical reasoning, and communication skills.
