Job Summary

Partner with product and operations teams to create, review, and maintain clear, user-focused documentation for complex defense hardware and software. Identify user workflows, build documentation roadmaps with stakeholders, and establish documentation quality standards for tone, voice, and accuracy. Produce artifacts such as manuals, procedures, checklists, templates, user guides, troubleshooting guides, and release notes, including programs requiring MIL-STD-40051D and S1000D IETMs/IETDs.

Key Responsibilities

•Generate, review, and edit user-focused technical documentation in partnership with engineering and operations.
•Identify and prioritize tasks to keep product documentation efforts on track using a data-driven approach and stakeholder input.
•Communicate risks and manage expectations with leadership and relevant stakeholders.
•Contribute to a living documentation process to improve continuity and documentation culture.
•Lead documentation roadmaps and coordinate contract deliverables to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and correct formatting.

Key Requirements

•4+ years generating technical documentation for complex hardware, software, or aerospace systems.
•Experience writing technical, user-facing documentation.
•Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation (e.g., schematics, CAD, or software specs).
•Experience building content in multiple formats (e.g., Word, XML, DITA).
•Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance, and able to relocate onsite to Costa Mesa, CA if needed.
