Job Summary

Own ByteDance’s global network incident response and operational stability across backbone, data centers, public cloud, Edge/CDN, and network gateways. Support day-to-day non-CN global network operations, collaborate with the 24/7 NOC team as an L2 engineer, and work cross-functionally with network and software teams to improve monitoring, tooling, and automation. Troubleshoot with ISPs/vendors, perform RCA, and support maintenance and change activities including post-change validation.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead global network incident response and ensure operational stability across backbone, data centers, public cloud, Edge/CDN, and network gateways.
•Support day-to-day operations of non-CN global network infrastructure and respond to network incidents and emergencies to restore service.
•Partner with the 24*7 NOC team as an L2 operations engineer to maintain continuous global network operations.
•Improve operational tooling, monitoring platforms, and automation systems in collaboration with network architecture, deployment, and software engineering teams.
•Coordinate with ISPs and vendors to diagnose and resolve issues, conduct post-incident root cause analysis (RCA), and drive remediation; support maintenance and change activities including post-change monitoring.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
•2+ years of experience in network operations, network support, or network engineering.
•Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, and MPLS-related technologies.
•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, including timely response during critical outages.
•Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams.
