Job Summary

Lead water resources and stormwater engineering efforts across North Carolina, supporting statewide clients such as NCDOT and local agencies. Design and analyze conveyance systems and hydraulic models, contribute to stream restoration and SCM design, and guide technical reports and project deliverables. Engage in business development and mentoring of a growing team of water resources engineers while coordinating with other WSP disciplines to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve statewide clients, including NCDOT and regional/local organizations, supporting projects with major community impact.
•Participate in business development activities such as marketing, client engagement, and project initiation.
•Lead project teams to prepare technical reports and designs for stormwater and water resources projects.
•Ensure plans, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
•Mentor and collaborate with a growing local team of water resources engineers while guiding opportunity pursuit for the group/state.

Key Requirements

•BS or MS in environmental, civil, bio & ag, or a related engineering field from an accredited program.
•Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in North Carolina, or another state with ability to apply for NC licensure.
•5+ years of relevant experience across areas such as stormwater conveyance/flood mitigation, environmental permitting/restoration, watershed assessment/water quality improvement, hydraulic highway/transit design, and/or bridge hydraulic/scour analysis.
•Strong communication skills with ability to mentor and lead team members and coordinate with other WSP disciplines.
•Strong background using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design software (e.g., Open Roads Designer, Microstation/Geopak, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, StormCAD, SWMM, SRH-2D).
