Key Responsibilities

  • •Support execution of the firm’s global intellectual property strategy across trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, domain names, patents, and proprietary content.
  • •Provide strategic counseling for brand, product, service, and campaign naming, including clearance, risk assessment, prosecution, maintenance, and launch readiness.
  • •Oversee IP enforcement and disputes, including investigations, cease-and-desist activity, online brand protection, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
  • •Draft, negotiate, review, and advise on IP licenses and related agreements and counsel transactional attorneys on IP provisions in complex commercial contracts.
  • •Be accountable for day-to-day Intellectual Property Group operations and drive scalability through playbooks, templates, metrics, process improvement, and self-service tools.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • •10+ years of relevant intellectual property legal experience, with demonstrated ability to advise independently on complex IP matters.
  • •Strong working knowledge of U.S. and global IP laws, including IP portfolio management, clearance, prosecution strategy, licensing, enforcement, brand protection, copyright compliance, and trade secret protection.
  • •Experience leading legal workstreams, managing competing priorities, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and operating with sound judgment and minimal supervision.
  • •Experience developing scalable legal frameworks (playbooks, templates, training, and stakeholder-facing resources) and working cross-functionally across legal, compliance, risk, procurement, product, marketing, data, technology, and business stakeholders.
