Key Responsibilities

  • •Direct host patching, maintenance, and major version upgrades across multi-cluster ESXi and vCenter environments.
  • •Fine-tune VMware DRS rules and High Availability (HA) admission controls to maximize compute density and hardware efficiency.
  • •Design and govern vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS), including uplink teaming, network failover teaming, and VLAN tagging integrity.
  • •Architect and audit dedicated, non-routed Layer 2 storage fabrics (SAN, iSCSI, NFS) and verify Jumbo Frame (9000/9216) MTU settings across VMkernel interfaces, switches, and storage targets.
  • •Author and maintain unified UCS server profile templates, enforce zero-trust identity baselines and DISA STIG compliance, and produce engineering documentation, topology diagrams, and executive briefings.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 90,000 - 100,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Provide engineering support for enterprise networks, systems, and infrastructure in support of the U.S. Air Force.
  • •Demonstrate professional proficiency in VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) and Microsoft enterprise services (Active Directory, Exchange), and familiarity with Cisco UCS.
  • •Have additional familiarity with cloud platforms (Kubernetes, Azure, AWS) and virtual desktop technologies (Citrix or VMware Horizon).
  • •Maintain an active Secret security clearance (Must Have Clearance to Start).
  • •Hold required certifications: DoD 8140 DCWF 651, Advanced Level, and CCNA or MCSE (or equivalent), plus 4+ years IT domain knowledge (or a bachelor’s with 8+ years).
