Job Summary

Drive innovation for new mobile PC products as a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer within Dell’s Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence. Influence future mobile product design by leading technical decisions across industrial design, usability, quality, and reliability. Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to define innovation strategies, develop concepts with 3D CAD and FEA, validate prototypes, and enable integration with external partners.

•Influence future mobile product design with technical expertise focused on the front-end design cycle.
•Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to define innovation strategies and generate customer-focused design concepts.
•Lead technical decision-making across multiple disciplines including industrial design, usability, quality, and reliability.
•Develop and communicate design concepts using 3D CAD and FEA, and validate proof-of-concept prototypes.
•Drive design enablement with external partners to ensure solutions meet specifications for product integration.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 174,250 - 225,500

Key Requirements

•9+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience delivering innovative, high-quality designs.
•Deep expertise in engineering design principles including large-scale production, sheet metal, injection molding, electrical interconnects, heat extraction, and vibration control.
•Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD systems (CREO preferred) to create concept models and analyze production designs.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret mechanical simulations and evaluate design trade-offs for cost, performance, and quality.
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (electronics enclosure design experience is a plus).
