Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop optical modules for neutral atom quantum computers.
•Collaborate with physicists to translate requirements into optical systems, sub-systems, modules, and components across R&D through productization and maintenance.
•Technically lead an interdisciplinary engineering team (optical, electronic, mechanical, etc.) to move an optical module from early concept to production.
•Advance engineering practices through independent research, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
•Troubleshoot technical issues at headquarters and at customer locations in coordination with the local support team.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in optics, optical engineering, applied physics, or a closely related field.
•10-15 years of non-academic work experience, preferably in an enterprise environment and enterprise-scale engineering.
•Deep expertise in free-space optics, lens design, fiber optics, lasers, and optical system characterization/testing.
•Experience bringing complex optical systems from concept to production.
•Proficiency with Mechanical CAD tools (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks), PDM/PLM software, and optical simulation software (e.g., Zemax).
