Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and operate production PostgreSQL clusters at scale, including replication, partitioning, connection pooling, VACUUM tuning, and WAL management for high transaction volumes.
  • •Deploy and manage PostgreSQL on Kubernetes using operators (CloudNativePG, Patroni) with automated failover and storage and availability optimization.
  • •Build Ansible-based automation for provisioning, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
  • •Optimize pgVector workloads (e.g., IVFFlat/HNSW index tuning and ANN search performance) for AI/ML embedding pipelines.
  • •Evaluate database technologies and establish administration/programming standards while mentoring engineers on Postgres internals and operational best practices.

Key Requirements

  • •10–14 years of database administration and platform engineering experience.
  • •6–10+ years of production PostgreSQL at scale, including partitioning, logical replication, connection pooling (PgBouncer), pgBackRest, and WAL tuning.
  • •3+ years administering stateful workloads on Kubernetes, including operators, persistent storage design, and backup/restore in K8s.
  • •3+ years building automation frameworks in Python, Bash, and Ansible for infrastructure (authoring infrastructure, not just using playbooks).
  • •Proven experience designing self-service infrastructure; desirable experience includes pgVector production and Go for open source or agentic/LLM-augmented operations.
