Job Summary

Repair and maintain mobile equipment at Concrete Ready-Mix plants, working under the direction of the Senior/Lead Mechanic. Perform diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical, transmission, brake, and driveline troubleshooting using diagnostic software, manuals, and tools. Split time between shop and mobile repairs, conduct welding and fabrication, maintain parts inventory, and follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout while supporting shop safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Repair and maintain mobile equipment including ready-mix trucks, front-end loaders, and trailers, with a 60/40 split between shop and mobile repairs.
•Observe and listen to trucks in operation to determine malfunctions and perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic software.
•Read manuals and use hand tools and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance across electrical, power transmission, braking, driveline, and other automotive systems.
•Perform welding, repair, and fabrication as needed, and replace rollers and other wear items.
•Maintain parts inventory and order parts and supplies as needed; follow safety policies and participate in shop safety programs and tailgate safety meetings.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or Equivalent GED required.
•Minimum 5 years of mobile equipment maintenance experience, with ready-mix maintenance preferred.
•Trade school or related mechanical/technical certification.
•Knowledge of repair and maintenance of diesel engines and related systems (hydraulics, electrical, transmissions, brakes, drivelines).
•Basic welding skills and ability to read and write in English.
