Key Responsibilities

  • •Report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and drive mechanical design and validation for the next module/chassis.
  • •Explore and implement design solutions that satisfy structural, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, documentation, and product-family constraints.
  • •Create and manage designs in Creo 3D CAD, producing drawings and 3D files needed for prototyping and manufacturing.
  • •Plan and coordinate peer/cross-functional design reviews and manage BOM and product changes using product lifecycle management tools (Agile).
  • •Support thermal and airflow work by providing 3D models for thermal simulations and designing/managing heat sink work and thermal testing; also provide PCB design outputs and debug prototypes in the lab.

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
  • •Relevant experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment for data centers is preferred.
  • •Experience designing sheetmetal parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines.
  • •Experience designing plastic parts for cosmetic and non-cosmetic uses.
  • •Good verbal and written communication skills.
