Job Summary

Design HVAC and related mechanical systems for a variety of building projects, supporting teams through design and construction. Develop air distribution, hydronic, and automated temperature control systems, integrate mechanical requirements into facility designs, and coordinate multi-discipline deliverables and equipment selections. Communicate engineering concepts to clients and stakeholders, perform construction administration, and mentor junior engineers while preparing drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Independently support project teams during design and construction stages for mechanical systems delivery.
•Design air distribution, hydronic, and automated temperature control systems and integrate mechanical requirements into facility designs.
•Coordinate multi-discipline teams to develop drawings and specification documents for architects, contractors, and building owners.
•Review systems and mechanical drawings prior to issuance, select and schedule major equipment, and develop project specifications.
•Attend client meetings, maintain and develop client relationships, perform construction administration tasks, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical building systems emphasis.
•7+ years designing mechanical systems for high-performing commercial, industrial, or healthcare facilities.
•Registered Professional Engineer (PE), if eligible.
•Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficiency with tools including AutoCAD and Revit (including BIM) and engineering analysis programs (e.g., Trane Trace), plus knowledge of building/mechanical/energy codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI).
