Job Summary

Own the documentation strategy and standards for Sophos’s Digital Customer Experience (DCX), translating complex cybersecurity products into clear, trustworthy content across product help, API references, release notes, and more. Lead and grow a team of technical writers, set quality and performance metrics, and improve content operations through intake, audits, governance, and Agile release workflows. Partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Localization to drive measurable self-service impact, including AI-assisted documentation workflow evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

•Own a comprehensive documentation strategy aligned with product roadmaps, customer journey insights, and business priorities, including content architecture and team structure.
•Maintain and enforce documentation standards, style guides, taxonomy, accessibility requirements, and governance across all documentation surfaces.
•Directly manage a team of technical writers, coaching, developing talent, and planning capacity to meet roadmap demands.
•Improve documentation intake, review, and publishing workflows that integrate with Agile release cycles across product engineering teams.
•Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and Localization, providing updates on documentation health, progress, and roadmap status.

Key Requirements

•8+ years in technical writing/content strategy, with at least 3 years managing a documentation or content team.
•Lead documentation programs for enterprise SaaS/B2B products, including designing content architecture and improving documentation quality and usability.
•Strong people leadership skills, including providing constructive feedback and setting clear expectations for your team.
•Exceptional written communication and editorial judgment, including producing polished content yourself.
•Experience with documentation toolchains (e.g., Mkdocs, MadCap Flare, Confluence) and integrating documentation into Agile engineering release cycles.
