Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and sustain seat belt systems across the full product lifecycle, from specification and drawing release through validation, ramp-up, manufacturing support, and post-SOP maintenance.
  • •Set and pursue technical excellence goals while meeting economical, timing, and quality targets.
  • •Collaborate with internal engineering teams to develop restraint system packages that improve occupant protection performance and interior styling.
  • •Provide guidance and requirements to internal teams for reaction forces/displacements and keep-out zones, and lead conceptual design of guides, brackets, and related components.
  • •Manage Tier 1 suppliers, lead supplier interfaces, support restraint system integration, and contribute technical inputs for crash tests and vehicle homologation.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including occupant safety, failure mechanics, dynamics, and biomechanics.
  • •5+ years of related experience in seatbelt restraint system development and integration.
  • •Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • •Strong CAD skills to model and package seatbelt components in the vehicle environment and define interfaces and modifications.
  • •Experience designing seatbelt systems for an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier with responsibility for product development and system integration (preferred).
