Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate the execution of instrumentation and controls engineering activities across projects, primarily for the Shell Scotford Program.
  • •Serve as the Instrumentation & Controls Working Lead and provide technical input for P&ID development and review.
  • •Specify, select, and size field instrumentation and control devices, and prepare/review control system engineering deliverables such as control philosophies and architectures.
  • •Apply knowledge of industrial communication networks and fiber optic systems, and participate in process safety reviews including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL.
  • •Prepare and review engineering documentation and support FATs/SATs while mentoring junior instrumentation & controls engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma in Instrumentation Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • •Minimum eight years of Instrumentation & Controls engineering experience.
  • •Strong knowledge of API, ASME, CSA, and ISA codes, standards, and industry practices.
  • •Demonstrated experience leading instrumentation and controls engineering activities on multidisciplinary projects.
  • •Strong understanding of industrial communication and network systems.
