Design and maintain mainframe platform architecture for high-scale processing of large data volumes. Provide technical leadership, set and reinforce standards, and help upgrade infrastructure for optimal performance and uptime. Partner with Operations on troubleshooting and tuning, collaborate on process improvements, and participate in code reviews, unit testing, and production/non-prod issue support. Mentors engineers while assessing implementations to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide thought and technical leadership for key mainframe initiatives.
•Develop and maintain architecture solutions for a high-scale, large-data processing platform.
•Set, communicate, and reinforce technical standards across the engineering team.
•Work with Operations to plan infrastructure upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.
•Participate in code review and unit testing and support issues in non-prod or production.

Key Requirements

•8+ years working on COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
•5+ years of CICS system knowledge (valuable).
•Experience assessing and researching platform implementations to determine actions to elevate the platform for customer needs.
•Ability to troubleshoot, tune environments for performance and uptime, and support production or non-prod issues.
•Strong ability to identify risk areas, mitigate issues, and work with less experienced staff when handling more complex problems.
