Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead delivery of WSP Land business development across Manchester, Leeds and the wider northern region to secure new projects, extensions, and clients.
  • •Work with Engineering, Engagement, Environmental and Planning teams to identify multidisciplinary opportunities and strengthen regional collaboration.
  • •Act as a trusted advisor to clients, engaging with client capture teams and Key Client Managers (KCMs).
  • •Manage regional resource strategy, including retention, succession planning, recruitment and workload planning, to build team capability.
  • •Provide technical direction on Land projects across the North of England and wider UK, including statutory processes to acquire land and land rights (e.g., CPO, DCO, Transport and Works Act Orders, wayleaves and access arrangements).

Key Requirements

  • •Experience managing/directing delivery of Land services including land referencing, Orders production, acquisition of consents, consultation and landowner engagement.
  • •Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams across sectors and locations through all stages of scheme development.
  • •Experience reducing land risk for clients and advising on land-related matters across the project lifecycle.
  • •Experience of Public Inquiries/Oral Hearings and managing objections.
  • •A degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management or similar.
