Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and run the data platform, owning the role-based access model across medallion layers with least-privilege and scoped tool/service access.
  • •Manage grants as code and run access review cycles so the process provides audit evidence.
  • •Own Snowflake administration, including security/network policies, data masking and PII controls, storage organization, compute cost, and retention.
  • •Extend the medallion architecture and Terraform-managed footprint, including state, module design, and environment promotion with full dev/prod separation.
  • •Own ingestion and orchestration: Fivetran/custom extraction, dbt execution strategy, GitHub Actions workflows, reliability practice (freshness SLAs, alerting, incident paths), and source-schema change detection.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in data engineering, including staff or senior IC experience setting technical direction others follow.
  • •Deep Snowflake administration, especially designing role-based access models with least-privilege, masking, PII controls, and cost management.
  • •Strong Python and SQL with production experience in ingestion (Fivetran or similar) and orchestration (dbt platform, GitHub Actions, or Airflow).
  • •Advanced dbt experience: modeling patterns, macros, incremental models, testing, and CI approaches (including slim/state-based CI) with SCD tables.
  • •Experience with layered warehouse architecture (medallion) and Terraform-managed infrastructure, including state and environment promotion.
