Job Summary

Translate customer requirements into actionable audiovisual (AV) system designs and detailed documentation. Partner with Account Managers during pre-sales to explain proposed solutions, assess risks, and provide labor and materials estimates for proposals. Produce design packages including BOMs, diagrams, and infrastructure plans, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and support project teams as the “design authority” through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with Account Managers to understand customer requirements and translate them into functional AV system designs.
•Develop pre-sales design and proposal materials, including explaining design concepts, demonstrating proposed solutions, and providing labor and material estimates.
•Create detailed design documentation such as BOMs, conceptual block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work, including infrastructure requirements (power, data, conduit).
•Assess project risks, site conditions, scheduling requirements, and dependencies; coordinate with vendors, architects, consultants, and contractors to align designs with constraints.
•Support project teams during implementation by providing technical input as the “design authority” and assisting with additional tasks as needed.

•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address risks effectively.
•Experience conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences (clients, project managers, field teams).
•Ability to work in cross-functional teams (sales, project managers, vendors) and manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficiency in designing and configuring AV systems, with a working understanding of IP networking, including topologies and AVoIP.
•Familiarity with AV/IT standards (AVIXA, ANSI/TIA) and tools such as CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu), plus relevant audio/DSP certifications and a valid driver’s license.
