Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the development of rail civil engineering designs and project deliverables.
  • •Assist with integrating engineering designs from other railway disciplines, including signalling, electrification, and permanent way.
  • •Support planning construction and commissioning activities to minimise disruption to passengers and the public.
  • •Contribute to sustainable and safe-to-build designs, including concept and outline design proposals for rail projects.
  • •Support inspections, assessments, and design of bridges and other railway structures; undertake engineering analysis and calculations under guidance.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently studying towards a BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • •Expected to achieve a 2:1 classification or above (or equivalent).
  • •An interest in railway engineering and transportation infrastructure.
  • •Rail-related modules or previous rail experience would be advantageous.
  • •Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong verbal and written communication.
