Job Summary

Oversee safe, compliant delivery of highways, bridges, and infrastructure maintenance works for local government clients in the Cardiff region. Work with Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors, and NEC Project Managers to monitor site conditions, update risk assessments, inspect completed works, manage quality issues, and report progress. Act as a key onsite liaison between contractors, clients, and project managers under NEC contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure all works are carried out safely and comply with CDM regulations, highway standards, and site-specific risk assessments.
•Monitor site conditions and update risk assessments as conditions change; coordinate with the NEC Project Manager on defects, early warnings, and compensation events.
•Inspect completed works to verify compliance with design standards; raise and resolve quality issues and non-conformances.
•Attend site meetings and communicate progress, risks, and issues; maintain site diaries, progress reports, inspections, delivery records, and photographs.
•Use Construction Management Systems to produce comprehensive NEC Supervisor Reports for the NEC Management Team and client.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of highways construction methodology, gained through site operative experience or a designer background.
•Familiarity with NEC Construction Contracts.
