Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to state and federal transportation laws and company safety regulations.
  • •Transport loads safely and timely over required routes; observe traffic laws.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Load/unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted; arrange trailers for optimum loading patterns.
  • •Maintain required paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine truck service checks; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to speak professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) (or chauffeur’s license depending on state) appropriate for vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal/state DOT regulations, including a DOT physical.
