Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare an inception report with a work plan to implement the assignment activities and deliverables.
  • •Conduct a baseline assessment of the MoH’s structure, policies, and legislation related to environmental health and climate change.
  • •Review existing coordination mechanisms for climate change and human health activities and recommend strengthening.
  • •Review and draft the updated Environmental Health Strategy for MoH, facilitate a national review workshop in Port Vila, and submit the workshop report.
  • •Produce and submit the final assignment report with updated Environmental Health Strategy.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Climate Change, Health Policy, Public Policy, Health Systems/Health Administration or related fields.
  • •At least 2 years of demonstrated experience conducting policy/legislation reviews, institutional capacity assessments, and development of policy documents.
  • •Proven skills in policy analysis and technical report writing related to climate change and health in Pacific Island country contexts.
  • •Excellent organizational and communication skills working with government and donor institutions in a public sector setting.
  • •Fluency in English and Bislama.
